The West Coast Dirt Track Series will be holding it’s annual Willow Springs 3/8 Mile weekend this year Sept. 30 – Oct. 1, 2017 and honoring long time dirt track pioneer, friend and shop owner Joey Brown from Paso Robles, Ca who passed away last October. Brown’s Cycles specialized in Yamaha’s but worked on everything and was the place to stop if you were traveling down the 101 through Paso Robles to see what was going on, enjoy lively conversation or get your bike fixed. It was just a short jaunt off the freeway to the shop on Stockdale Rd. Brown’s Cycles has been a long time sponsor of the series and there will be a special memorial race with members of Joe Browns family and closest friends on Sunday.
Specialty Fabrications, Inc is stepping up again as the sponsor of the Digger Helm Open Pro class with cash purse monies that defy description for a non-sanctioned event. Terry Otton Racing is giving up $15,000 for Dash-for-Cash monies! Exciting racing from the pros as well as entertaining races from the youth classes, the next young guns. Vintage classes highlight classic motorcycles and their pilots plus the regular support classes provide for a full days racing on Saturday and the big monies awarded Sunday. Bring your friends and family and have fun!
Entry blanks are to be completed and mailed before the Sept. 24 cut-off for pre-entry savings. Two-day pit passes will be available at registration at a discount. Overnight camping is available. See entry blank for pricing, schedule info and class restrictions. Any questions call the hotline: 661-944-1184 or e-mail email@example.com or check our website EddieMulderswcvdts.com.
Hello! We have a new, updated events schedule for this year:
Unfortunately, we will not be hosting the fast and famous Amateur Sacramento Mile at Cal Expo Sunday May 21.
We are promoting the Lake Cachuma British M/C Rally camp out June 2-5 and new dates are Sept. 30-Oct. 1Joey Brown Memorial Willow Springs 3/8 Mile Doubleheader.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regretfully will not be the host of the Cal Expo Amateur Mile after the National. The new organization handling the event is the California Flat Track Association www.californiaflattrack.com
The Lake Cachuma British M/C Rally takes place the weekend after Memorial Day this year. Our Grand Marshal is Bill Getty from JRC Engineering. The theme is “Competition Motorcycles”. Come relax among the rolling hills and oak trees north of Santa Barbara, Ca with your favorite British bikes and people. Enjoy three square meals, bike show, mapped rides to explore the beautiful locale and field meet, fun and games on two wheels. Awards nightly from the show and field meet. Camping limited to the first 200 registered. Cutoff for registration May 14 or max entries received. Click to download the registration forms.
Our friend and fellow motorcycle enthusiast Joey Brown of Brown’s Cycles, Paso Robles, Ca left us in October. To honor him, the Willow Springs doubleheader Sept. 30-Oct. 1 will be named the Joey Brown Memorial. As usual we will be offering large pro purses and exciting National level racing for two days. More info as it develops.

Entry blanks for this years Oct 1-2 races at the Willow Springs 3/8 Mile doubleheader are available now. Please complete one for each day and mail with your entry fees. We had to increase our pit pass prices but we are giving a break for a two-day wristband.
All systems are go for the Eddie Mulders West Coast Dirt Track Series doubleheader October 3-4. The water is available and we are going ahead with the event. Pre-entry forms are posted for printing, completing and mailing in with your entry fees. One for each day please. If you need assistance, please call the hotline 661-944-1184 and leave a message so I can call you back. Pre-entering saves money and time at registration so you can get in the pits faster and get your spot! Pre-entry cutoff is Sept 27th. Heats are lined up by postmark date. Pros draw for heat positions at sign-ups but still save money by pre-entering! Membership numbers are no longer required to enter.
We are getting questions about the pro purse payouts. Here is a rough breakdown of how we will be doing it. Note! This is subject to change! Saturday Oct 3: Specialty Fabrications Dash-4-Cash is $10,000. We usually take the top 2 from each heat and pay all places so how many depends on how many heats. !st place gets about 35% and last place 5%. The Ramspur Winery Open Pro purse Saturday is $15,000. Willow can take 14 riders for the main event but again it depends on how many heats and semis. We pay the top 10 finishers:
Sundays Specialty Fabrications D-4-C is $20,000 and the Digger Helm Open Pro purse is $30,000. Percentages are the same.
Note! If you are from out-of-state (non-California) we take 9% state taxes from your winnings after the first $1,000 earned and all pros must complete a W-9 form with your tax ID# or Social Security number upon entering. No exceptions so have that info when you sign up please!
Eddie is looking to get some purse money together if we have a bunch of pro racers to run a “B” Main Sunday only. It won’t be nearly as much as for the regular mains but at least it will be something for those who don’t make the main. We will have more info on that come race weekend. Please remember this is subject to change!
Pit passes are $20 per day for all non-riders, we have two-day wristbands for $40 to avoid hassles. Kids 12 and under are free. Willow Springs charges $10 per person to get through the front gate. Consider this your camping fee 🙂 their wristband is good all weekend but you need a WCDTS pit pass to enter our event. Friday camping is available until 6pm then we lock the gates and pit gates open both Sat and Sun at 8am to get in. Registration is from 8-10am. Practice starts at 10:30 am after the riders meeting and races start at 12pm noon both days.
If you have any questions please call the Hotline at 661-944-1184.
